# Add adverts and sponsored posts

## Add adverts to blog posts

Add adverts to live blogs in two different ways:

- **Automatically**: In the *settings* section of a blog, within *Monetization*, define when an advert automatically airs during a live blog. The LIVE BLOGGING tool offers advice as to which frequency is best — we suggest no fewer than six posts between adverts. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/2e698e3c-4773-44a4-9476-1d05bac85eee/Images/Documentation/10619334310684.png)
- **Manually**: Editors can add adverts manually to a blog by taking the following actions:
  - Select *Default Post*****in the *Post Creation Area*of your live blog.

  - Select *PUBLISH* to add the advert to the blog.

## Adding companion adverts to sponsored posts

In the *Settings*section of a blog, under the *Monetization* tab, select the *Insert a companion ad after a sponsored post* option. This instructs the front-end to render an advertisement after a blog post.

For example, a goal in a football match, as you link both a *sponsored post*and a *corresponding advert* to the same partner.
