# Channel assets

Assets are your catalog of video and non-video content. Each of your assets contains metadata (including asset images), offers, and an internal reference to a video file (if applicable).

The Apps support multiple asset types, including *movies*, *TV shows*, live *channels*, and *programs*. These assets can display throughout your apps across different row types. Movies and TV shows are then playable from the asset's item details page, whereas channels and their associated assets are played directly from the channel (linear) rows. Linear schedules (which contain limited metadata) automatically link to a related *program*, *episode,* or *movie* asset.

### Channel assets in rows

Channels display in a linear row with each asset represented by a thumbnail, title, and scheduled time.

This can be presented in the form of a channel schedule containing on-now and upcoming content for a single channel. Alternatively, channels in rows can be displayed as an on-now channel list showing the current on-now schedule for each channel, or an episode guide that shows *on now* and *upcoming* content for some or all the channels you offer.

In the following example, channel assets display in a linear row with each asset represented by a thumbnail, title, and scheduled time:

In this next example, we can see the on-now and upcoming assets for this channel asset:

Scrolling to the end of a specific channel row reveals the "View Full Schedule" button. Selecting this directs users to the full schedule for this particular channel.
