# Create and edit navigation rules

In this article, we cover how to manage navigation rules.

## Introduction

Within FORGE, content is arranged into distinct entity types, such as stories or albums. The [entity navigation](/v1/docs/the-entity-navigation) defines which page an entity of a specific type must render through *navigation rules*.

The next paragraph shows step-by-step how to create and edit navigation rules.

## Create and edit rules

2. The *Navigation Rules* page displays with: 1. The anchor list of the entity types with at least one navigation rule — find a detailed description of a navigation rule in the [The entity navigation](/v1/docs/the-entity-navigation) article. 2. The expanded list of the entity types and their linked navigation rules. 3. 3. Either select the navigation rule to edit, or select the ![](https://cdn.document360.io/2e698e3c-4773-44a4-9476-1d05bac85eee/Images/Documentation/13182754053916.png) button to create the new navigation rule.

**Tip:**When accessing the Entity box, you get a list of the entity types that are already linked to a navigation rule.

> **Tip:**When accessing the Attribute box, you get a list of attributes that have been previously chosen in a navigation rule.
7. 9.
