# Hero modules

## Editorial purpose

Use hero a module to set a single, dominant narrative or call to action in a highly prominent position, typically at the top of a page.

## Module variants

### Standard parameters

#### Common parameters

All modules share the following parameters:

- **Visual**
  - **Hide Module**: Toggle on to prevent the module from displaying in the front end.
  - **Color Schema**: Specify whether the module appears in light (default value) or dark mode.
  - **Remove Top Spacing**: Toggle on to remove top spacing from the module.
  - **Remove Bottom Spacing**: Toggle on to remove bottom spacing from the module.
- **Animation**
  - **Enable Animation**: Toggle on to set module animation. The front-end implementation determines what the animation looks like.

#### Dynamic hero parameters

[Hero Dynamic Thumbs Landscape Small](https://en-product.deltatre.com/demo/modules/hero-dynamic-thumbs-landscape-small) and [Hero Dynamic Thumbs Portrait Small](https://en-product.deltatre.com/demo/modules/hero-dynamic-thumbs-portrait-small) have the following specific parameters:

- **Animation**
  - **Effect Type**: Transition effect used by the carousel. It can be fade or slide. The default value is slide.
  - **Autoplay Duration**: Set the seconds per item in carousel. The default value is 8. The minimum value is 1.
- **SEO**
  - **Cards Title Heading Level**: Heading level used for card titles on the front end. The default value is h2.
- **Data**
  - **Skip**: Number of items to skip.
  - **Limit**: Number of items to fetch.
  - **Selection Slug**: Slug of the [Editorial selection](/v1/docs/create-and-manage-editorial-selections) that feeds the hero list. Do not use if you need a single-entity hero.

#### Static card hero parameters

[Hero Static Cards Landscape Big](https://en-product.deltatre.com/demo/modules/hero-static-cards-landscape-big) and [Hero Static Carousel Cards Portrait](https://en-product.deltatre.com/demo/modules/hero-static-carousel-cards-portrait) have the following specific parameters:

- **SEO**
  - **Cards Title Heading Level**: Heading level used for card titles on the front end. The default value is h2.
- **Data**
  - **Skip**: Number of items to skip.
  - **Limit**: Number of items to fetch.
  - **Selection Slug**: Slug of the [Editorial selection](/v1/docs/create-and-manage-editorial-selections) that feeds the hero list. Do not use if you need a single-entity hero.

#### Static video hero parameters

[Hero Static Video](https://en-product.deltatre.com/demo/modules/hero-static-video) has the following specific parameters:

- **SEO**
  - **Title Heading Level**: Heading level used for the hero title on the front end. The default value is h2.
- **Data**
  - **Hero Video Slug**: Slug of the Hero Video entity used to retrieve video data
