From version 6.9 of the AXIS Reference Apps, the new [HX1 Advanced hero row](/v1/docs/hero-rows) is supported on the home and category pages. From version 6.7 of the AXIS Reference Apps, the [ST1](/v1/docs/sports-rows) and [ST3](/v1/docs/sports-rows) rows are supported on the app home page in addition to the relevant sports item detail pages. This means you can dedicate rows to live and upcoming events on the home page so that users see them as soon as they open their app. > [!NOTE] > **Note:**ST3 rows are not currently supported on the homepage on Android devices. ![Live_events_row.png](https://cdn.document360.io/2e698e3c-4773-44a4-9476-1d05bac85eee/Images/Documentation/7555800282524(2).png) The apps use the asset metadata, and the asset’s schedule, to determine what information to show about the content’s availability. Read on to find out how. ### How *Upcoming* events display #### Upcoming events on body rows The **ST1** (horizontally scrolling) and **ST3** (grid) rows can be used to present future, live, or past event assets. [List rules](/v1/docs/using-list-rules) in AXIS Presentation Manager allow you to add to a list any events that are due to start within a specified timeframe and order them by start time. These upcoming events can then be promoted to your pages using one of the row types mentioned above. Users can also choose to [bookmark](/v1/docs/bookmarks) the event so they can easily return to it later. If the upcoming event is more than 7 days away, the start time and date are shown in the event hero row ([SHE1](/v1/docs/sports-rows)) above the asset title. The [HX1 Advanced hero row](/v1/docs/hero-rows)released in [Presentation Manager 9.8](/v1/docs/release-notes-axis-98-q2-23) also supports the start time and date display. ![SHE1_-_Upcoming_event_hero.png](https://cdn.document360.io/2e698e3c-4773-44a4-9476-1d05bac85eee/Images/Documentation/7555899094428(2).png) #### Date formats - Event start date is **< 7 days** = Ref Apps display **week day** and **start time**, and **Upcoming badge** e.g., '*Thu 18:00'* - Event start date is **today** = Ref Apps display **Today**,**start time**, and **Upcoming badge**, e.g., '*Today 18:00'* - Event start date is **tomorrow** = Ref Apps display **Tomorrow** and **start time**, e.g., '*Tomorrow 18:00'* - Event start date is **< 11 months** = Ref Apps display **day**, **month**, **start time**, and **no badge**, e.g., *'9 Dec 20:00'* - Event start date is **> 11 months** = Ref Apps display **day**, **month**, **year**, **start time**, and **no badge**, e.g., '*28 Nov 2023, 20:00*' - Event is **Live** and **ends in > 24 hours** = Ref Apps display **day**, **month**, **start time**, to the **day**, **month**, and **end time**, e.g., '*3 Oct, 10:30 - 4 Oct 13:00*' - Event is **Live** and **ends in < 24 hours** = Ref Apps display, **start time**, to the **end time**, e.g., '*10:30 - 13:00*' #### The event countdown timer For events that are due to start in 7 days or less, a countdown timer appears above the asset title. The timer counts down to the start of the event (based on the device's time) in days, hours, minutes, and seconds. #### Which rows support the event countdown timer? The [SHE1 – Event Hero (16:9)](/v1/docs/sports-rows) row supports the event countdown timer. ![SHE1_Event_hero_countdown.png](https://cdn.document360.io/2e698e3c-4773-44a4-9476-1d05bac85eee/Images/Documentation/7555953544348(2).png) #### Countdown time behavior As the event time approaches, the countdown format changes as follows: ![Upcoming_countdown_timer.png](https://cdn.document360.io/2e698e3c-4773-44a4-9476-1d05bac85eee/Images/Documentation/7556016035996(2).png) - **Number of days is greater than 00:**Days, hours, minutes and seconds are shown, e.g., *04:12:34:56*. - **Number of days is less than 00:**The day count and label are hidden. Hours, minutes, and seconds are shown, e.g., *12:34:56*. - **Number of hours or minutes is less than 00**: The hour, minute, and second units are shown as the countdown progresses to 0 seconds, e.g., *00:04:56* or *00:00:56*. - **Once the content becomes live**: The countdown is hidden, and an appropriate CTA is displayed (see more below). Metadata is updated, e.g., the *Upcoming* badge changes to *Live Now*. ### How *Live* events display Once an event is live, how it appears to users depends on several factors, including the user’s sign-in status and their entitlement to watch the event. If separate rows are used for live and upcoming events, then when the event starts, it will move from the *Upcoming* row to the *Live* row when the app is refreshed. Similarly, when a live event ends, it will be removed from the live event row upon refreshing the app. ![SHE1_-_Live_event_hero.png](https://cdn.document360.io/2e698e3c-4773-44a4-9476-1d05bac85eee/Images/Documentation/7556069536412(2).png) On the item detail page, the following scenarios apply: - **Signed-in user with asset entitlement** When a user is signed in to their profile and has an [entitlement](/v1/docs/entitlements) to watch the asset through a subscription or offer, they’ll see a *Watch Live* button once the event is live. Clicking on this will commence playback of the event asset. - **Signed-out user/Visitor** If the user is a visitor, a signed-out user, or a user without the relevant entitlement to watch the asset, they’ll see a *Subscribe* button once the event is live. Clicking on Subscribe will initiate the appropriate predefined workflow, allowing the user to either sign in or subscribe to watch the asset.
