# Parental lock

## Parental lock settings

> **Compatibility note:**This is not currently available in the Deltatre Apps. Using a kids [profile](/v1/docs/user-profiles) is comparable to Parental lock - however, when using a kids profile, no inappropriate content is displayed, whereas with the Parental lock, it is displayed, but cannot be watched without a PIN.

Preventing children from accessing age-restricted content is often a top priority for parents. The Apps allow users to set a parental lock on items above a particular classification rating. Once set, users need to enter a pin code to view any content above a particular classification regardless of which profile they are using.

## How does parental control work?

Users can select a classification level under the *Parental Lock* section on their [*Account*](/v1/docs/account-page) page.

Once a classification level is set, the restriction applies across all profiles on the account. Access is then restricted via a PIN when watching content that is on or above the set classification level.
