Overview

This release introduces Live to VOD transition and Castlab Concurrent Stream Limiting (CSL) on Android TV.

What's new

Live to VOD transition

DIVA 5 now supports the transition of videos with a status of Live to Video-on-demand.

When watching a Live video, when the transition to VOD takes place, the End-of-Play experience triggers, the Live stream is no longer live, but available as content on demand.

On DVR, playback isn’t interrupted, however, the ‘Go live’ button disappears when the Live video ends and transitions to VOD content. When users reach the end of the stream, the End-of-Play experience triggers.

Castlab Concurrent Stream Limiting (CSL)

Concurrent Stream Limiting (CSL) is a feature provided by Castlabs DRM, to implement concurrent video streaming limitation at playback level. This is done by providing DRM licenses that have a fixed duration and must be renewed to continue ‌playback.

Implementation of CSL means we can now control the maximum number of concurrent video sessions started by a user account, and we can help to limit piracy streaming.

Our CSL approach differs depending on client and project needs. If you would like more information on this, please speak to your Product Engagement representative or Project Manager.

See our Concurrent Stream Limiting (CSL) help centre article for further information.
