# Set up external data sources and no-code post parts

## Where to find the External data section

Add *External data* to integrate different types of data into your blog. For example, add commentary from a reporter, or a set of sponsors whose product you'd like to promote. To find the *External data* section, first select the hamburger icon at the top of the left menu. Then select the *External data*option.

## What are no-code post parts?

Opening the External data section displays information in three areas:

1. **No-code post parts:**Parts of a Live Blog post that are configured **manually**and **can** be changed. No-code post parts have certain parameters, but administrators can set them up in different ways. For instance, the administrator of a football club can change the commentary to fit their sport better. They can add red and yellow cards, and goal icons. This is different from a tennis tournament, which would use ace and set icons instead.
2. **External post parts:** Parts of a live blog post that are configured **automatically** and **can't** be changed. For example, the [*oEmbed*](/v1/docs/add-social-media-to-blog-posts)*part*that****[**allows editors to share social media posts in blogs**](/v1/docs/share-blog-posts-to-social-media), is an external post part.
3. **Datasources:**A list of the different data sources that are linked to a LIVE BLOGGING account. For example, this is where you link your FORGE content management system (CMS), and all the content in it, to feed your LIVE BLOGGING account.
4. **Tag providers:** Where developers can set up your tags with external data sources.

## Adding a new no-code post part

To add a new no-code post part, select the *CREATE NO-CODE POST PART* button in the top-right corner of the page. Create either *Commentary*, *Card*, or *Custom types*:

1. **Commentary:**Create match commentary-style posts. These are great for big moments of an event with added icons, text, and further detailed information. For example, the timing of a goal - all in one post.
2. **Card:**Create promotional cards, which can include a *message,* an *image, and* a *call to action*with a *URL link*. This feature is good to use when you're looking to promote something a sponsor is selling (like a pair of Football boots) in your blog.
3. **Custom:**A combination of commentary and card types, but with more freedom. Here, administrators can create post parts completely from scratch using some pre-determined rules (like whether to choose *text*,*numbers,* or *media*).

1. Add a**title:** Adding a title automatically updates the *Id* section.
2. Choose an**icon:** Choose a preferred icon by visiting [Material icons](https://mui.com/components/material-icons/). For example, the Soccer ball icon is called **SportsSoccer** — to add this icon, make sure the icon phrase is lowercase, and insert an underscore: **sports_soccer**.
3. Select an**event category:** This should include your chosen sport. Select the **MANAGE CATEGORIES** button to create your own categories — this takes administrators to [**the Graphic Asset Dashboard**](/v1/docs/graphic-assets). ****
4. Toggle the **Main event info**, **Actor** and **Free text description** options: this determines whether your no-code post part includes *text*, *time/result details,*and*player or team icons.*
5. Choose whether to include a **team icon**, **player details**, or **both**, in your no-code post part.

Once you're happy with your choices, select the *CREATE* button in the top-right corner of the page. Editors can start using the new no-code post part immediately in blogs.

## Creating a new no-code card post part

2. Choose an**icon:** Choose a preferred icon by visiting [**Material icons**](https://mui.com/components/material-icons/)****and selecting the proper icon. For example, the icon of a label is called **Sell,**and as the icon is only one word, add with a capital letter. If the icon was two words, for example,**SoccerBall,**you need to make the icon phrase*lower case*and add an *underscore*, making **sports_soccer**.
3. Select**image position:** This decides which section of your card the image is added to.
4. Toggle the**button option**: This determines whether your card includes a CTA**with a *URL link*.

## Creating a new no-code custom post part

Complete the following sections to create a no-code **custom** post part.

![](https://cdn.document360.io/2e698e3c-4773-44a4-9476-1d05bac85eee/Images/Documentation/10579274732316.png)

1. Add a**title:** Adding a title automatically updates the *Id* section.
2. Choose an**icon:** Choose a preferred icon by visiting [**Material icons**](https://mui.com/components/material-icons/)****and selecting the icon they would like to use. For example, the icon of a smiley face emoji is called **InsertEmoticon;**to add this as an icon, make the icon phrase*lowercase*and add an *underscore*, making **insert_emoticon**.
3. Select a **name** for your field: This is the name of your chosen field, and you should use it to categorize what your chosen field is. Adding a name automatically updates the *Id* section.
4. Select a **type** for your field: This determines the role this field plays in the Custom no-code post part. For example, choosing the number type, means an editor can add a number — for example, the minute in which a goal is scored — to a card.
5. Add another **field**: With custom cards, add as many fields as you like to a card — we'd suggest not over-doing it with this feature!
