VESPER Seasons

Prev Next

Introduction

VESPER Seasons in FORGE (‘Seasons’ from now on) are references to VESPER Seasons, which are groups of videos on demand (VODs). A UEFA Champions League season is a Season example.

The Season-specific fields are:

  • Season Id (Read-only): The unique identifier of the VESPER Season.

  • Description: The season description as it is imported from Vesper. When edited, this field is no longer synchronized with Vesper.

  • Long Description: Extended description providing more detailed information about the Season. When edited, this field is no longer synchronized with Vesper.

  • Season Logo: GAD asset used as the season logo.

  • Number of Elements (read-only): Number of VODs present in this entity.

  • Sponsored by: List of partners that play the role of sponsor.

Where do I find Seasons?

Expand the left menu by selecting the expand button on top. Then, scroll to find the Vesper Season item.

Vesper to FORGE synchronization

Vesper is the source of truth for Seasons.

When VESPER Seasons are created or modified in VESPER, the changes are automatically propagated to the corresponding FORGE entities.

When you modify the title or editable fields of a Season, the changes are not propagated back to VESPER. For example, if you edit the Description, this field is no longer synchronized with the corresponding field in the VESPER Season.

How to restore the synchronization

By setting the same value as the field (e.g., Description) has in VESPER, you can restore the VESPER-to-FORGE synchronization.

Can I create a Season in FORGE?

No. The Season entity in FORGE is a reference to the VESPER Season.

How to manage Seasons

Thumbnail, description, and long description are the information to identify the Seasons. So, there’s no need to switch to the VESPER application to manage Seasons in FORGE. Go to VESPER if you need to list the videos on demand (VODs) within the Seasons.

You can leave a Season standalone or add it to an Editorial Selection.
