Overview

FORGE 2023 Q1 released a fully-headless CMS with the new presentation manager app - the Page Builder.

Rooted in that foundation, FORGE 2023 Q2 delivers:

  • In Content Manager

    • The new story list view

    • The new photo grid view

  • In Page Builder

    • The preview to check pages before publishing

    • URLs alias of pages to increase their traffic

    • Variables to reuse configurations through folders and pages

On the technical side, front-end developers get new Front-end API endpoints to retrieve the URL of the page preview and URLs to build the navigation of list details through the front-end.

Finally, FORGE, as a platform, adopts the latest stable version of RabbitMQ to power its messaging system.

What's new

Content Manager and Page Builder

Content preview

The Content Manager allows previewing content and the Page Builder allows previewing pages that are built with an external rendering engine.

The same preview feature is available through the Front-end API.

Content Manager

Share stories

Editors can now get the URL of the page that publishes a story and share it through socials.

Delete a single translation of a story

Editors can now manage story translations one by one. So, they can now delete a single translation and preserve the others.

Page Builder

Variables to reuse the configuration

Producers can define variables of pages and folders to reuse their configuration across their children folders and pages.

Aliases to increase the traffic

Producers can define an alias for the page URLs to increase the traffic generated by the organic search results.

Front-end API

Getting entity detail URLs in a list of entities

Endpoint that allows getting the page’s link rules as they are defined in the Visual Site Manager. Front-end developers benefit from the new endpoint to manage the navigation from items in a list to their detail page.
