Overview

This release for tvOS introduces Live to VOD transition, the End-of-Play (EoP) experience, DIVA 5 Player connection to DIVA Back Office developments, and Castlab Digital Rights Management (DRM) on tvOS.

What's new

Live to VOD transition

DIVA 5 now supports the transition of videos with a status of Live to Video-on-demand.

When watching a Live video, when the transition to VOD takes place, the End-of-Play experience triggers, the Live stream is no longer live, but available as content on demand.

On DVR, playback isn’t interrupted, however, the ‘Go live’ button disappears when the Live video ends and transitions to VOD content. When users reach the end of the stream, the End-of-Play experience triggers.

End-of-Play Replay experience

Introducing the End-of-Play Replay experience on tvOS! This development allows users to replay the previously consumed event when they reach the end of a video stream. We’re working to enhance the EoP experience further in later releases.

Visit our End-of-Play experience article for further information and examples.

DIVA 5 Player connection with DIVA Back Office

We've created an easier way to connect DIVA 5 to DIVA Back Office out-of-the-box, including support functions like initialization, entitlement processes, DRM, and business continuity.

If you would like more information on this, please speak to your Product Engagement representative or Project Manager.

Castlab Digital Rights Management (DRM)

Introducing out-of-the-box Castlab Digital Rights Management (DRM) on tvOS!

An alternative to Azure Media Services, this feature handles content protection by managing playback authorization and digital rights management (DRM) license key distribution. Read more in our Digital Rights Management article.
