What’s new

DIVA 5 Player connection with DIVA Back Office

We've created an easier way to connect DIVA 5 to DIVA Back Office out-of-the-box, including support functions like initialization, entitlement processes, DRM, and business continuity.

If you would like more information on this, please speak to your Product Engagement representative or Project Manager.

Castlab Concurrent Stream Limiting (CSL)

Concurrent Stream Limiting (CSL) is a feature provided by Castlabs DRM, to implement concurrent video streaming limitation at playback level. This is done by providing DRM licenses that have a fixed duration and must be renewed to continue the playback.

Implementation of CSL means we can now control the maximum number of concurrent video sessions started by a user account and we can help to limit piracy streaming.

Our CSL approach differs depending on client and project needs. If you would like more information on this, please speak to your Product Engagement representative or Project Manager.

See our Concurrent Stream Limiting (CSL) help centre article for further information.

Castlab Digital Rights Management (DRM)

Introducing out-of-the-box Castlab Digital Rights Management (DRM) on Roku!

An alternative to Azure Media Services, this feature handles content protection by managing playback authorization and digital rights management (DRM) license key distribution. Read more in our Digital Rights Management article.

Live-to-VOD transition

DIVA 5 now supports the transition of videos with a status of Live to Video-on-demand.

When watching a Live video, when the transition to VOD takes place, the End-of-Play experience triggers, the Live stream is no longer live, but available as content on demand.

On DVR, playback isn’t interrupted, however, the ‘Go live’ button disappears when the Live video ends and transitions to VOD content. When users reach the end of the stream, the End-of-Play experience triggers.

Timeline icon clustering

Introducing a cleaner timeline UX for fast-paced events such as Handball and Basketball - as busy timelines are tricky to navigate.

We've developed a cluster timeline icon that represents multiple events, decluttering the timeline. Grouping together events in close proximity, the cluster icon expands to display the full feed when selected.

Visit our interactive timeline article for more information.
