Overview

This release contains Data panels, Chromeless mode, Thumbnail scrubbing, DIVA Back Office adapter improvements, and Session ID management on WebTV, supporting Generic TV (web browsers), Samsung — Tizen, LG — WebOS, and Sky Q.

What’s new

Data panels

We've further enriched the audience UX with additional synchronized information and statistics (depending on the sport) in the form of data panels for Football, Basketball, Handball, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Baseball, and Cricket, with more sports coming soon!

Chromeless mode

This release introduces the ability to embed videos that play automatically without any UI within sections of DIVA Player, for example, a trailer within a list of tiles, hero rows, or the Item Detail page.

Chromeless mode provides users with a video preview when browsing content, enriching the playback experience and aiming to increase engagement.

Supports basic controls via API callbacks and configurable Chromeless mode options including play/pause/stop/mute, set playback volume, and video replay (loop playback).

Thumbnail scrubbing

This release transforms the ability to navigate accurately and easily to a specific moment within a video-on-demand (VOD) stream. The new visual timestamped thumbnail, situated above the scrub bar, improves the scrubbing user experience, helping to increase user satisfaction.

Hover on or select and drag the scrubber to activate the thumbnail scrubbing functionality.

DIVA Back Office adapter improvements

In this release, we've built on the existing Back Office adapter to improve the quality and testability of DIVA Player and DIVA Back Office integration.

The Back Office adaptor connects DIVA Player to DIVA Back Office out-of-the-box, including support functions such as initialization, entitlement processes, DRM, and business continuity.

Session ID management

Introducing client-side management of the current Session ID, and using it with SSAI Advertising to better target advertisements to users via Harmonic and AWS workflows through the entitlement service.
