This article covers entering menu metadata when setting up new menus.
What is menu metadata?
In Presentation Manager, the menu metadata field is where you specify your copyright to display in your apps, so you can show your content is protected. The information you enter here appears below the footer on every page of your apps.

How do I set up menu metadata?
To get started, navigate to DISPLAY and select Menus, then select Metadata from the option on the left-hand side.

2. In a similar way to page variants, each metadata variant tab represents a language. This allows you to display appropriate copyright information depending on the language settings the user has chosen in their app.
Select an existing variant, or create a new one using the
button.

3. Enter the required information into the relevant fields:

Copyright
Enter copyright: Specify your copyright details here. Once published, this will be displayed in italics below the page footer.
Custom Properties
Enter field name: Enter a unique custom field name here, if required.
Enter value: Enter a unique value for the custom field.
Saving and publishing your metadata
By clicking the
button, your menu metadata is made visible to your end-users.
Need to make additional changes before going live?
No problem, save your menu metadata without publishing by selecting the More button, followed by Save. Your changes will be saved, but your menu metadata remains in a draft state.

Compatibility notes: From AXIS Presentation Manager 10.0 onwards, the Call-to-action functions are as follows. They work in a consistent way across Presentation Manager.
To Save or Publish
The following buttons are available to save, or save and publish:
Save X (where X is the name of the side tab currently open) - this saves the content of the currently open side tab, but does not publish it. It is available when any changes have been made to the content of that side tab.
Note: In Pages, this button is entitled Save Variants. It saves all the variants in the Content side tab.
Save and Publish - any new changes across the entire object are saved, and the whole object is published to make it visible to your end-users to view and interact with. It is available when there are any saved or unsaved changes, which have not been published, in the content of any of the side tabs.

To Unpublish, Archive or Delete
Within the More drop down list are further options:
Unpublish - this removes the object from publication, so your end-users can no longer view and interact with it, and puts it back into a status of Draft.
Archive - this puts the object into a status of Archived, which prevents any further use, although it can still be viewed. Note that if this is actioned while an object is in a status of Live, it is automatically unpublished.
Delete - this completely removes the object from the system. It is only available in Pages.
Note: To check the success of selecting any of these options, the header includes the updated status of the object. See The header and status for details of the resulting status after taking any action, and what the header looks like in AXIS Presentation Manager 10.0.
To delete a menu variant
To delete a menu variant, click the dropdown arrow in the tab of the variant and click Delete. You must have at least one variant remaining in order to be able to delete additional variants. Note that if the variant has previously been published, you must click the Save and Publish button after this for it to take effect. Please note that once a variant has been deleted, it cannot be recovered, so do this with extreme caution.
