The header and status

Prev Next

Compatibility notes: The following user interface and experience is applicable to AXIS Presentation Manager 10.0, where it has been streamlined so that the information displayed in the header, the statuses of all the objects, and the functionality of the different buttons, are consistent throughout the system. For versions prior to this, any necessary information is included within the help center page specific to the object.

Headers

Note: When referring to an ‘object’, we are talking about a page, a list, a menu, an asset item, a channel, a link, a global offer, or an offer.

Once you have navigated to an object, the first thing that you see at the top is the header. The header area at the top of all Presentation Manager object pages shows information about the object you are have open. From AXIS 10 onwards, the header includes:

  • An image, if an applicable image exists for the object (Asset items, Channels and Links only)

  • If the object is an Episode nested in a Season, etc, a link showing where it is nested (Asset items only)

  • The title of the object, and when the content side tab is selected, the name of the open content variant (Pages only)

  • The object’s type and and ID (Asset items and Channels only), Distributor (if applicable, Asset items only) and Channel number (Channels only)

  • The status the object is in, the type of Page (pages only)

  • The parent Global offer (offers only)

  • When it was last updated and who by

Episode details for 'Blue Code' from Season 1 of the series Person of Interest.

To the right hand side of the header, the Call-To-Action buttons are displayed, which move the object from one status to another (see below). From AXIS 10.0 onwards these buttons are consistent across Presentation Manager. See the individual topic pages for more information.

Statuses

AXIS objects can all be amended in various ways, and the status reflects how they have been changed. From AXIS 10 onwards, the list of possible statuses with AXIS Presentation Manager has been streamlined. The following statuses are available:

  • Draft - created but not yet published, or unpublished. Identified in the sitemap or listing by a white marker with a gray outline.

  • Live - previously published, and has not been edited or had any other action taken since then. Identified in the sitemap by a green marker.

  • Live/Unpublished Changes - edited and saved since it was last published. Identified in the sitemap by an orange marker.

  • Archived - available to view, but not use or amend. Identified in the sitemap by a gray marker.

The following actions move AXIS objects from one status to the next (note that Save X refers to the save button for the currently open side tab):

  • Draft > select Save X > Draft

  • Draft > select Save and Publish > Live

  • Draft > select Archive > Archived

  • Live > select Save X > Live/Unpublished Changes

  • Live > select Save and Publish > Live

  • Live > select Unpublish > Draft

  • Live > select Archive > Archived

  • Live/Unpublished Changes > select Save X > Live/Unpublished Changes

  • Live/Unpublished Changes > select Save and Publish > Live

  • Live/Unpublished Changes > select Unpublish > Draft

  • Live/Unpublished Changes > select Archive > Archived

If you select Delete, this removes the object entirely.

Note: Within a published (Live) object, if you add, duplicate or delete a variant, or add or delete an image, the object is automatically put into a status of Live/Unpublished Changes, as the variant or image is automatically saved (but not published). However, any changes made to a variant after it has been added or duplicated still needs saving manually.
