Overview
This release introduces the following new features on WebTV for DIVA 5.2, supporting Generic TV (web browsers), Samsung - Tizen, and LG - WebOS.
What's new
Accessibility features
We’ve developed further WebTV accessibility features to make DIVA Player as usable and accessible as possible. New features include:
Alternate input methods
Introducing alternative device support on WebTV. Alternate devices help users with disabilities by offering a common, comfortable, and flexible option to navigate and interact with DIVA Player, other than the default remote. Read our accessibility article for more information, and to learn about other features.
Tab navigation
Introducing a more simplified and linear way to navigate the DIVA Player UI. Helping users with visual impairments and disabilities, tab navigation involves using the tab key on a keyboard or the L1 (left) and R1 (right) bumpers on a gamepad to move forward and backward through the app. Learn more in our accessibility article.
Shortcuts
Now supporting a direct way to access specific functions, features, modules, and components within DIVA Player using keyboard keys or gamepad control. Read our accessibility article for more information.
Badges
DIVA supports video list item badges to visually indicate further accessibility support for content before a selection is made. Video list items display an “AD” badge if an Audio Description track is available and a “CC” badge if at least one Closed Captions track is supported.
Check out our accessibility article for more information on badges. For more feature information, read our subtitles and captioning, and audio tracks articles.
Example showing badges:
Screen opacity
We’ve made significant visibility improvements, meaning users can now control the semi-opacity design on specific UI (User Interface) elements, helping to increase the contrast between the text and the background. Screen opacity is controlled via the Settings panel.

Subtitles and Captioning enhancements
We’ve enhanced the display of Subtitles and Captioning for better visibility, clarity, and sharpness of text. DIVA users can now enlarge the text by 25% and enable high contrast mode, turning the text background opaque for clearer readability. Read our accessibility article for more information and our subtitles and captioning article for further feature information.

Text-to-Speech (TTS)
DIVA users can now take advantage of the Text-to-Speech (TTS) screen reader, providing audible descriptions of specific events and interactive UI elements. TTS generates a voice description upon receiving focus, stating the name, purpose, status, and expected outcome of an action. Enabled at an operating system (OS) level, TTS can help users apply Subtitles and Captioning, audio tracks, and HDR settings, as well as informing users of when advertisements end and recognizing video list item badges. For more information, read our accessibility article.
Custom input reactions
Introducing the ability for integrators to implement a voice command system or other custom inputs, such as gestures, that helps users navigate and interact with DIVA Player for basic commands. Read more in our accessibility article.
