This article introduces Subscription Video On Demand (SVOD) functionality configured in AXIS Presentation Manager and Recurly, displaying in Deltatre Apps, helping to increase monetization capabilities.

What is Subscription Video On Demand (SVOD)?
The introduction of Subscription Video On Demand (SVOD) support means that users must be subscribed to the service to unlock access to App content. Depending on the user’s entitlement status, the Subscribe CTA displays when content is configured to be accessible by subscribed users. This feature encourages users to subscribe to the service via a range of supported subscription plan types.
What are the Subscription plan options?
Note: Monthly, Yearly, and Season pass plans must be must be set up in both Recurly and Presentation Manager and Recurly and mapped 1:1.

Season pass |
Season pass plans grant users access to full coverage and exclusive content for the duration of a sporting season or defined period. Users can purchase a Season pass ahead of the season start date, during the season, and near the end of the season, as pricing adjusts accordingly. Season passes help to increase user engagement and brand loyalty by providing a premium viewing experience with simplified content access. |

Freemium (Free) |
Content associated with a Freemium plan requires users to register to consume content, therefore anonymous App users are presented with the ‘Register to watch’ CTA. On selecting a Freemium plan, users are encouraged to register to the application. Upon successful registration, they’re shown the Welcome page followed by the Homepage. Freemium plans are not associated with Recurly, set up takes place in Presentation Manager and the Front End Apps. App user experience:

Where can App users subscribe from?
Compatibility note: The Subscription flow differs depending on the App in use. In-App Purchases (IAP) is supported on Native Android devices.

Launching the App
The Item Detail Page via the Watch, Sign up, Subscribe, or Register to Watch CTA
The Homepage via a deep link, e.g., Promotional banner
Which rows support SVOD?
The Subscribe CTA is supported on the Item Detail page for a Movie or TV Show, or Sporting event via the Item Detail DH1 Hero row, the Sports SHE1 Event Hero row, and the Channel Hero CHD1 row for linear content.
Subscriptions enables operators to create asset offerings based on various tiers, for example, Free, Standard, or Premium. App users can choose from the available plans before enjoying content offered by the OTT service.

The Plan payment page enables users to pay for their plan via a fully PCI-compliant payment journey. PayPal is supported as a payment method.
